Since the inauguration of business, the Takaoka Plant has engaged in the manufacturing of indispensable industrial products for respective times, such as lime nitrogen, ferroalloy (secondary material for iron and steel), battery materials, and soil improvement agents.
Currently, the pulverization of ferroalloy and secondary processing, such as addition of nitrogen, are carried out at the ferroalloy factory.
In addition, the plant is located in the industrial zone where many factories are located in the vicinity of Oyabe River and Sho River, and straddles the border between Takaoka City and Imizu City. It is near to Fushiki-Toyama Port, so it is convenient for traveling to South Korea, China, and Russia. It is also convenient for traveling to Kanto, Kansai, and Chubu regions.
The site area of the plant is about 200,000 m2, the electric power receiving capacity is 50 MVA, and industrial water is supplied from both municipal and prefectural systems. The population of the nearby region is relatively large, so we put special emphasis on the environmental management of the plant, to coexist with local communities.

Since the inauguration of business, the Yamagata Plant (Oguni Factory) has been manufacturing electronic materials that are indispensable for growing society and our standard of living, such as battery materials and high-purity metal, based on our ferroalloy technology, which has been our mainstay for many years. In addition, the plant engages in business under the environmental policy of “reducing waste, preventing environmental pollution, actively recycling and reusing products, conserving the environment, and effectively using earth resources.”

Symbol of the Oguni Plant: “Monument of ferrochrome”

With the hope that the Oguni Plant will thrive perpetually while maintaining the harmony with the rich nature of Oguni Town

This monument was made of about 2.5 tons of ferroalloy recovered from the bottom of the furnace, as a small furnace called Furnace No. 8 had to stop the manufacturing of low-carbon ferrochrome in 1971. The then director Seiichi Matsubara ordered the production of a monument from the recovered ferroalloy and the setting of the monument in front of the office, reflecting the history of the Oguni Plant for the future generation.
This monument is infused with the passion of our forerunners, and is symbolically watching over our office for safety and prosperity as the emblem of the Oguni Plant.

In the region richly endowed by nature as it is surrounded by the Ou Mountains and Waga River, we operate business under the ethos of “harmony among water, greenery, and people.” In the early days of our business, we owned a hydroelectric power plant, and engaged in the manufacturing of ferroalloy. Currently, we supply electric power and industrial water to the companies whose businesses consume a lot of electric power inside the premises.
The area of the former factory site inside the premises is approx. 60,000 m2, and we plan to introduce a new business that will require stable electric power and industrial water.
